“ITS NOT SO MUCH ABOUT PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT; ITS ABOUT CREATING A WORLD WHERE THE ENVIRONMENT DOESN’T NEED PROTECTING “
Sodium hypochlorite is a chlorine-based disinfectant widely used for controlling microorganisms across industrial and food hygiene applications.
This product contains approximately 14–15% sodium hypochlorite solution, together with stabilising agents designed to support product stability.
The concentrated formulation provides a flexible disinfectant solution for food manufacturing facilities where chlorine-based hygiene products form part of the site's documented cleaning and disinfection procedures.
The 14–15% concentration makes this a concentrated sodium hypochlorite solution intended for professional use.
Concentrated chlorine products require appropriate handling, storage and dosing procedures. Users should consult the current Safety Data Sheet and product documentation before use.
The product should only be diluted and applied according to the manufacturer's specified conditions.
Rinse After Use
Where the product is applied to food contact surfaces, utensils or equipment, rinsing should be carried out according to the product instructions and the site's documented food hygiene procedure.
The appropriate rinse procedure will depend on the specific application and required concentration.
This sodium hypochlorite disinfectant can be considered for hygiene programmes across industries such as:
Suitability should always be confirmed for the particular surface, equipment and process before application.
Sodium Hypochlorite 14–15% can be incorporated into suitable hygiene procedures across a variety of food and beverage manufacturing environments.
Suitable for use on appropriate food preparation surfaces as part of a documented cleaning and disinfection procedure.
Can be used on compatible food processing equipment where a chlorine-based disinfectant is appropriate.
Suitable for appropriate production utensils following cleaning and according to the manufacturer's instructions and site's hygiene procedures.
Can be incorporated into hygiene procedures for suitable general food manufacturing equipment and surfaces.
Sodium hypochlorite can be used for appropriate drain treatment applications, helping support hygiene controls in areas where drainage presents a potential microbial harbourage concern.
The product can be considered for appropriate Clean in Place (CIP) applications where sodium hypochlorite is compatible with the process, equipment and materials.
CIP systems should always be operated according to the equipment manufacturer's requirements and the chemical manufacturer's instructions.
The product can also be used as a process aid for suitable applications intended to help extend product shelf life.
The exact application, concentration, contact conditions and regulatory requirements should be established for the specific process before use.
Sodium Hypochlorite 14–15% can be used as a terminal disinfectant on suitable food preparation and food processing surfaces, production utensils and general equipment.
Terminal disinfection forms part of a broader hygiene process and should follow effective cleaning to remove food residues, organic matter and other soils before disinfectant application.
The product should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, including the specified dilution, contact time and rinsing requirements.
Drains can represent challenging areas within food processing facilities because they may remain consistently wet and can provide suitable conditions for microbial growth.
Appropriate sodium hypochlorite drain treatment can form part of a broader environmental hygiene programme.
Drain treatment procedures should be carefully controlled to avoid chemical incompatibilities and to ensure the product is used at an appropriate concentration for the intended application.
Clean in Place systems require carefully controlled chemical concentrations, temperatures, flow rates and contact times.
Sodium hypochlorite can be suitable for certain CIP processes where chlorine chemistry is compatible with the equipment and process.
Before introducing sodium hypochlorite into a CIP system, always confirm:
