UK legislation changes that will affect the use of Ozone for Biocidal purposes.

The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has requested Ozone be registered under the Great Britain Biocidal Products Regulation (GB BPR).

An application will need to be submitted in November 2025. This application will allow all ozone generators to continue being used whilst ozone is assessed by the HSE.

However, once the application is approved only Ozone generators that have gone through the approval process will be allowed to be used for the purpose of disinfection. This includes existing generators.

Ozone Industries Limited, partner to SOS Hygiene Technologies and Specialised Ozone Solutions in the Food and Beverage Sector is making a submission to comply with the GB BPR.
