“ITS NOT SO MUCH ABOUT PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT; ITS ABOUT CREATING A WORLD WHERE THE ENVIRONMENT DOESN’T NEED PROTECTING “
FLOORDET HD is a heavy-duty caustic floor cleaner developed for food and beverage manufacturing environments where production floors can become heavily contaminated with grease, fats, food residues and other difficult soils.
Unlike a general-purpose light-duty floor cleaner, FLOORDET HD is positioned for heavy-soil floor cleaning.
This makes it particularly relevant to production environments where floors are exposed to:
Food manufacturing floors can be exposed to significant amounts of organic and greasy contamination during production.
Meat processing, poultry, fish, dairy, ready meals, bakery and other food-production environments can generate substantial levels of fat, grease, protein and food residue.
If these soils are allowed to accumulate, they can make floors increasingly difficult to clean and can interfere with the overall hygiene process.
FLOORDET HD is designed specifically for the heavy-duty cleaning stage, helping cleaning teams tackle difficult floor contamination as part of a controlled food factory hygiene programme.
One of the main applications for FLOORDET HD is the removal of heavy greasy contamination.
Suitable for food-processing environments where animal or vegetable fats can accumulate on floors.
Designed to tackle greasy floor contamination associated with food production and industrial operations.
Suitable for floors exposed to food residues and other heavy production soiling.
The alkaline caustic formulation is designed for demanding cleaning applications involving organic and greasy soils.
A key advantage of FLOORDET HD is its flexibility.
It can be used for:
Suitable for cleaning areas where manual application is required, including smaller rooms, edges, corners and areas inaccessible to machinery.
Can be used through suitable floor-cleaning equipment, making it appropriate for larger production areas where mechanised cleaning is preferred.
This makes FLOORDET HD suitable for food factories with a combination of:
Manual cleaning + scrubber-dryer cleaning + machine-assisted floor cleaning
Always ensure that the cleaning machine, floor surface and chemical are compatible before use.
FLOORDET HD can be used at ambient to high temperatures, providing flexibility for different food manufacturing cleaning processes.
The appropriate temperature should be established according to:
Higher temperatures may be useful for some greasy cleaning applications, but the correct operating conditions should always be established for the particular floor and equipment.
For Hygiene Managers, floor cleaning can represent a significant part of the overall daily cleaning operation.
When selecting a heavy-duty food factory floor detergent, important considerations include:
FLOORDET HD is designed for sites where heavy floor soiling requires a dedicated heavy-duty alkaline detergent.
Technical Managers and Food Safety Managers need cleaning chemicals that fit into a controlled and documented cleaning programme.
FLOORDET HD can be considered where a site requires a dedicated heavy-duty floor detergent for production and food-processing areas.
A typical floor-cleaning procedure may include:
Removal of gross debris → detergent application → mechanical action → soil removal → rinsing → inspection/verification → disinfection where required
The precise procedure should be established according to the site's food safety system, floor type, equipment, soil loading and chemical instructions.
Food hygiene guidance distinguishes cleaning from disinfection, with cleaning used to remove dirt, grease and food residues before any required disinfection stage.
FLOORDET HD is described as suitable for cleaning many floor types.
However, floor materials vary considerably between food manufacturing facilities.
Before widespread use, assess compatibility with the particular floor, including:
Always consult the current Product Data Sheet and carry out a compatibility assessment or trial where appropriate.
Do not assume that a chemical suitable for one floor system is automatically suitable for every industrial floor.
FLOORDET HD can be considered for use with appropriate mechanical floor-cleaning equipment.
Potential equipment includes:
Equipment selection should reflect the floor type, production environment, level of soiling and site cleaning procedure.
Always confirm chemical compatibility with the equipment manufacturer.
Maintaining the correct chemical concentration can help support consistent cleaning performance.
SOS Hygiene offers Hi/Low Alkalinity Test Kit products for checking cleaning-solution alkalinity.
Available reagents include:
Contact SOS Hygiene if you require advice on alkalinity testing or chemical concentration monitoring.
A good food factory cleaning programme should not rely solely on visual appearance.
Depending on the site's food safety system, cleaning may be verified using methods such as:
The appropriate verification method depends on the cleaning objective and site's HACCP-based procedures.
SOS Hygiene can discuss cleaning chemical selection and chemical concentration testing as part of a wider hygiene programme.
FLOORDET HD is a professional alkaline caustic cleaning chemical.
Before use, the current Safety Data Sheet should be obtained and reviewed as part of the site's COSHH assessment.
HSE guidance requires employers to adequately control exposure to hazardous substances and consider factors including handling, storage, dilution, application and worker exposure.
Particular attention should be given to:
Always follow the current SDS and product instructions.
FLOORDET HD is designed for heavy-duty floor cleaning across a wide range of food and beverage manufacturing environments.
Suitable for heavy-duty cleaning where floors may be exposed to animal fats, grease, blood-related organic residues and other production soils.
Suitable for production-floor cleaning where protein, fat and organic residues can accumulate.
Suitable for appropriate heavy-duty cleaning of floors exposed to fish, seafood and protein-rich organic residues.
Suitable for appropriate floor-cleaning applications where dairy fats, proteins and other production residues accumulate.
Suitable for production floors exposed to sauces, fats, oils, proteins and food residues.
Suitable for appropriate heavy-duty floor cleaning where oils, fats and food residues accumulate.
Suitable for cleaning heavily soiled floors within chilled-food manufacturing environments.
Suitable for appropriate floor-cleaning applications in frozen-food processing environments.
Suitable for appropriate heavy-duty cleaning where food residues and organic production soils accumulate.
Suitable for appropriate cleaning applications around beverage production environments.
Suitable for compatible production floors and areas where heavy organic or greasy soiling occurs.
Production floors are exposed to a different cleaning challenge from many other surfaces in a food factory.
They can receive:
A dedicated heavy-duty floor detergent can therefore be an important component of a professional food factory cleaning programme.
FLOORDET HD is designed specifically for this purpose.
FLOORDET HD is intended for the cleaning stage of a hygiene programme.
It should not automatically be described as a disinfectant.
Cleaning removes physical contamination, grease, fats and food residues. Where disinfection is required, an appropriate disinfectant should be selected and applied as a separate stage in accordance with its product instructions.
The FSA advises food businesses to use suitable cleaning and disinfection products and follow manufacturers' instructions.
